• SALIUT is an independent international publication dedicated to contemporary Ukrainian photography. This issue has two covers. You can specify which one you would like to have by leaving a comment when paying for the order.
• The issue tells about the turbulent and controversial Ukrainian 90s with a focus on the people and the environment of that time, as well as the real boom of the 90s aesthetics, which is again becoming relevant in the world. Through selected documentary and artistic photo projects, we propose to compare our warm nostalgic memories of childhood with the turbulent and complex reality of that time. This will allow us to analyze the historical progress of Ukraine through the works and memories of eyewitnesses of the era in order to better understand our present.
• Something from the legacy of the 90s still influences modern politics and society, shaping our thinking. Something has faded into the past like a terrible dream, which we do not want to remember, but we need to know. Something dies out as a nostalgic aesthetics, on which the myth of the times of boundless freedom and crazy opportunities grows. And something stays with us in warm memories, street style and film photographs.
• The second issue of the magazine is supported by the global creative platform Deposit photos. Together with them, we are preparing a powerful visual journey through the lenses of talented Ukrainian photographers and artists.
