Description

  • Sasha Maslov's photo book, which includes portraits of Ukrainian railway workers from different parts of the country.
  • "Ukrainian Railroad Ladies" is a series of portraits of crossing guards and traffic safety controllers of the Ukrainian Railways. At the same time, this project aims to find out why the respective professions are still relevant, given the almost complete automation of railway crossings within the country. The author tries to explore certain anthropological and social aspects of this phenomenon, as well as to highlight the general features of the functioning of Ukrainian railway connections. Working on the project, Sasha Maslov - famous for his social documentary portraits, where the focus is always on the hero in his subject environment - visited different parts of Ukraine.
  • "Ukrainian Railroad Ladies" is more than 50 photographs of female employees of the Ukrainian Railways. These women are like a symbol of a certain stability against the background of sometimes too shaky realities of the Ukrainian present. Each time emerging from their incomprehensible timelessness, the heroines of Sasha Maslov's portraits seem to remind us that the world around us is perhaps not so fleeting.
